Cheese as a Cavity Preventor
The May/June 2013 edition of the General Dentistry has published a recent study consisting of teens eating different types of lactose food and found that the ones consuming cheese, cheddar cheese to be specific, produced a higher pH than the others. Many studies have shown that higher pH prevents tooth erosion in one’s mouth therefore preventing cavities from forming. The phosphorus and calcium in the cheese even helps create a seal in your teeth.
