This maybe hard to do depending on who you are as a person. Knowing that your classmates are in college or in the workforce while you’re doing another year in school can be embarrassing especially now that the little kids you used to babysit is seated next to you. For many high schools the age limit is 20 years old and if you haven’t quite hit the big 2-0, you can still get your diploma. If you only need a limited number of credits, reach out to your old school or talk to school board members for advice. Yes, being in class with people two to three years younger than you can be embarrassing, but you’re doing this for your greater good. It will pay-off in the end.
Try An Online Program
Online programs are a great way for furthering your education and have become very popular over the past decade. Academies such as James Madison and Penn Foster gives you the opportunity to earn credits and complete full courses online. Some of these organization are for profit and if you don’t have any income coming in; paying the tuition can be a nightmare. Search around for other opportunities similar to Virtual High School. These schools are funded by grants and may be no cost for individuals under 26 years of age. For more information try going to your local workforce center or asking around from people in the know.
(GED) Program
GED Testing is one of the most popular and sought after ways for receiving an equivalency diploma. This program is very similar to high school curriculums and are composed of reading, science, social studies, mathematics, and writing. Annually there are up to 700,000 individuals who participate in this program and many of the people should be closer in age or the same age as you. You have to have a certain number of points per year taken and you must be consistent with studying and coming to class.
