Got Bad Breath?  Here Are Some Quick Tips For Clean Breath!

Most of us sometimes don’t realize how bad our breath can be until we get the strange looks from colleagues, friends, and even strangers.  That’s when you know it’s time to take action! Fortunately, there are some things you can do to limit bad breath!  Of course, the number one option is to brush your teeth and of course, floss as often as you can.  Plaque leads to build up of bacteria on your teeth because of food that gets stuck between your teeth.  Flossing will get the food particles stuck between the teeth.  Don’t brush your teeth too hard; you don’t want to wear down the enamel of your teeth.

Also, you may want to avoid or not eat foods with garlic or onions especially if you are going to any social functions or special occasions with family.  You want to have the freshest breath possible on any occasion where you will be around lots of folks.

Many people don’t realize they should scrub their tongues!  There are tongue scrapers on the market specifically for this purpose.  Sometimes food particles and bacteria remain on your tongue and cause bad breath as well!

There are plenty of mouthwashes on the market these days.  But what if you ate a meal with garlic or onions and you don’t have a small bottle of mouthwash on you?  Never fear!  You can always drink water!  Just swish some water around your mouth for a minute or two and you can eliminate food particles from your mouth.

After dinner mints only have sugar in them and sugar feeds and promotes bacteria in your mouth! Sugarless gum is now the way to go to increase saliva production in your mouth.  Saliva protects the teeth against plaque acids which cause bad breath!  Not to mention tooth decay!

Of course, we don’t need dry mouth!  Dry mouth also leads to bad breath as well as tooth decay.  There are some products on the market to combat dry mouth and of course chewing gum or drinking plenty of water also helps to fight dry mouth

Finally, if you have gum disease or periodontal disease, this can also be the cause of bad breath odors in your mouth.  Keeping your gums healthy will also be good for your teeth as well as your breath.  See your dentist if your bad breath continues to be a problem.  Your dentist will have the answers to any dental questions or problems you may have!
