Summer Habits To Practice Yearlong
When the summer draws to close, it’s easy to fall back into unhealthy habits as the winter doldrums approach. Oftentimes, after being motivated to eat better and stay fit during the long, hot sun-filled days of bikini season, our healthy lifestyle choices are forgotten in the lull of the colder months. Many people find it difficult to sustain their summertime approach as the sunlight hours diminish and the layer-upon-layer of clothing are applied. Below you’ll find a few healthy habits you can develop over the summer season to help you maintain a healthy lifestyle throughout the winter.
Stay on Schedule
For must of us, getting going in the morning tends to be a bit easier if the suns already out. Unfortunately, when Daylight Savings time bids farewell, we once again quickly become too well-acquainted with the daily struggle of having to leave our soft, warm beds to meet the dark, frigid winter daybreak. Because of this, it’s all too easy to press the snooze one more time, roll over and lose track of any semblance of a routine. We’ve all been through it.
However, for the benefit of a committed healthy lifestyle, keeping your body on a regimented schedule day-in and day-out is of the utmost importance. If you’re prone to serial snoozing, try leaving a full glass of water near your bed the night before. When your first alarm sounds, chug down the entire glass. Drinking a decent amount of water immediately after waking will kick-start your metabolism, which in turn allows you to wake up quicker. After getting out of bed, go straight to brushing your teeth. Dental health is important for your heart and the activity should wake you up even more. Whatever you do, find a routine and make sure to stick to it.

Stick with the Fruits and Veggies
Nothing beats fresh fruit, but when more and more go out of season as summer drifts further into the past, it becomes harder and harder to avoid the dangerous allure of processed foods. Whether it be because our favorite fruits and veggies are less available or less affordable, it’s nevertheless important not to succumb to ease of unhealthy eating.
It may be worthwhile in the long term to dish out the extra couple of bucks for fresh food during the winter. However, if you’re keen on savings, an alternative way to get the proper allotment of fruits is via dried varieties. For your greens, try buying canned or frozen.
Set Goals
Make lists, brainstorm aims, make sure to always have something you’re looking to accomplish. In both dieting and working out, striving for something does wonders towards maintaining a positive mentality. It may seem simple enough, yet anyone who’s had to stand out in freezing weather scraping off their car windows or shoveling snow can attest, staying positive during the winter can often prove challenging. Setting goals give you something to look forward too, and once you achieve one plateau, keep heading straight for the next.
Then, before you know it, it will be time again to bust out the beachwear. If you incorporate these healthy tips into your daily routine, you’ll be all the more ready to proudly sport that bikini.
