What is a fee schedule?

A DentalSave fee schedule is  list of charges for dental care services. Dentists keep fee schedules in their offices to specify the amount of compensation they want for providing selected services. DentalSave publishes lists representing the maximum charges participating providers can charge  for the same services. In an instance where a DentalSave published fee is equal or greater that the dentist’s normal fee, the participating dentist will provide an extra 25% off their normal fee.

Why are there so many?

We know that costs vary significantly for dental care services from one region to another. So in order to provide a fair and comprehensive fee schedule, we have created multiple fee schedules based on geographic locations.

Using our extensive network of  participating dentists, we have compiled a survey of their normal fees and combined the results with national data from the National Dental Advisory Service. The results are a series of fee schedules, fair and balanced, providing quality care at  affordable prices from New York to California.

2 Alternatives to the EpiPen Price Hike

2 Alternatives to the EpiPen Price Hike

The price of an EpiPen 2 pack is rising to a whopping $600 per pack. The price hike could mean trouble to other users who are low in savings but in great need of EpiPens. From it’s inception, EpiPens in the market has been a lifesaver and one that is truly welcomed with open arms by its users, especially to those experiencing severe to potentially fatal allergy attacks. Unfortunately, the cost of the lifesaving apparatus has spiked over the years putting a burden on the wallets and finances of individuals who are heavily dependent on it, and even more so with it’s most recent price hike.

What alternatives are there?

Discount Plans

As far as alternatives go, you can always consider a discount plan that provides savings on healthcare costs. With a DentalSave membership, you not receive great dental care at discounted rates, we also provide prescription discounts at no additional cost to you.

Generic Brands

If you’re a brand loyalist, you can save on the rising costs of EpiPens with our prescription drug savings plan. But keep in mind, a generic brand will be just as effective if it’s reviewed by the Federal Drug Administration, plus they can save you more money.

There is one cheap but effective alternative to EpiPen. Adrenalick is a cheaper choice costing $437 for a 2 pack. It is available at Walmart – one of the participating MedImpact retailers. Adrenalick also utilizes the same drug found in EpiPens. What’s even more interesting – there’s a generic brand available for this as well, meaning you can save even more. Use our price-checker to see how much you will save.

Why the price hike anyway?

The medication is not originally expensive. In 2008, EpiPens cost around $100. In the last decade, the cost of the countermeasure for anaphylaxis has soared to over 400%. In today’s market, the cost is now $600. In defense, EpiPen maker, Mylan said that EpiPens cost hike is due to an increase of price in its components. Moreover, the medication is highly needed in the pharmaceutical market. The US Congress is calling for an investigation on the rapid price hike of EpiPens which is a crucial life-saving medication for those suffering from allergies. But in the meantime, a DentalSave membership might be the alternative you’re seeking. Not only will you save on the price of EpiPens, you’ll save on additional health expenses when needed such as dental, vision and hearing.
